Czech Republic: Vignette & Tolls

The Czech Republic is one of the few vignette countries that sells a genuine single-day option, which changes the calculation if you are only passing through. Most of its neighbours make you buy ten days or more whether you need them or not. The other thing worth knowing is that the charge applies to motorways and expressways only. The Czech road network is dense and the ordinary trunk roads are decent, so avoiding the toll network altogether is a realistic choice on a short trip in a way it is not in Bulgaria or Romania. Prices are set in koruna rather than euro, and qualifying low-emission vehicles pay a reduced rate — worth checking before you buy if you are driving something recent.

A digital, plate-linked e-vignette is required for motorways and expressways, purchased online or at border crossings/petrol stations, valid for a set period (10 days / 1 month / 1 year).

The e-vignette is digital and plate-linked — buy online through the official eDálnice e-shop, or at petrol stations and border crossings. A discount applies for qualifying low-emission vehicles. Buy only through the official eDálnice channel or a clearly authorized reseller.
