Paris's low-emission zone covers all 20 arrondissements plus the Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne — entry requires a Crit'Air windscreen sticker matching your vehicle's emissions category, and the most polluting categories are banned outright.

Crit'Air 4, 5, and unclassified vehicles are banned at all times, including weekends. Crit'Air 3 vehicles are additionally banned Monday–Friday, 8:00–20:00 (permitted with no time restriction on weekends and public holidays).
Which vehicles are affected
You need a Crit'Air sticker displayed on your windscreen; the category (0–5, or unclassified) is based on your vehicle's fuel type and registration date.
Registering a foreign or rental vehicle
Order your Crit'Air sticker in advance from the official French government site (certificat-air.gouv.fr) — it needs to be posted to you, so don't leave it until the last minute before a trip. Watch for unofficial resale sites that charge a large markup for the same sticker.
Fees & fines
The Crit'Air sticker itself costs a few euros from the official site; driving without one, or in violation of the current restriction, carries a fine of €68 for cars and light vehicles (€135 for heavier vehicles). Figures are indicative and can change — confirm current rules on the official site before you travel.
How it's enforced
Currently enforced mainly by police checks rather than automatic cameras across most of the zone, though camera enforcement is being introduced — check current status.
