Which vehicles are affected
Phased. In the first year, vehicles labelled CERO, ECO or C, along with B-labelled and unclassified vehicles, could enter; the permitted set narrows as the phases advance, and by the third year unclassified vehicles need to be registered locally in Málaga. Confirm which phase is current rather than relying on a summary written earlier.
Registering a foreign or rental vehicle
Residents don't need a physical sticker — the system verifies plates automatically against DGT data and municipal records. Foreign-registered vehicles carry no DGT classification at all, so check the current municipal guidance on how yours will be treated before you drive in.
