The historic-center ZTL is active 07:00–20:00, every day. The pedestrian areas and the T-zone inside it are restricted around the clock rather than on that schedule.
Which vehicles are affected
Access is permit-based. The criteria for different vehicle categories have been tightened more than once in recent years, so check the current municipal rules for your vehicle rather than relying on an older guide.
Registering a foreign or rental vehicle
Hotels and B&Bs, public garages and repair shops inside the zone can arrange access for visitors — set it up through your accommodation before you arrive. Day tickets valid for a single day are also sold by the municipality.

Day tickets for ZTL access are sold by the municipality, priced by ticket type. Unauthorized entry is fined. Confirm current amounts on the official page before travelling.

Where the zone is
The zone covers a wide area inside the historic center, with gates at Porta Santo Stefano, Porta San Vitale, via Marconi, via San Felice, via Sant'Isaia, via Saragozza, viale XII Giugno, via D'Azeglio and others. Inside it, the pedestrian areas and the T-zone are restricted 24 hours a day.
